The Superior Rugby Club is a youth organization headquartered Superior, Colorado. Our coaches are dedicated to teaching, developing, and promoting the sport of rugby among youth of all ages in the Town of Superior and the surrounding communities. Led by former pro, collegiate, and club athletes, Superior participates in Spring, Summer, and Fall rugby activities that teach the fundamentals of the game, promote teamwork, good sportsmanship, and respect for others. Our coaches are background checked and certified by USA Rugby in recognizing concussions and training youth ruggers. They are also required to complete training in the SafeSport program.
We have begun registration for our fall TRY rugby program. We have teams at the U8 (7 & under), U10 (8 – 9), U12 (10 – 11), and middle school (U13 – U15) levels. The age cutoff for the program is September 1. The teams are all co-ed. The U8 team is a flag rugby team, while the remaining teams all participate in tackling. The spring TRY season runs from April through June, and plays at locations throughout the Front Range. From August through mid-October we take part in the 303 Fall Rugby League, playing in jamborees at City Park in Denver every Saturday.
Our TRY teams feed players up into our sister organization Monarch Rugby. We have boys and girls teams at the high school and middle school levels. The boys middle and high school teams are currently in season, and play January through May. Both the boys middle and high school teams play 15 a side, while the middle and high school girls teams play 7 a side, until we get enough girls to safely play 15s. Our high school boys team finished third in Division 1 last year, and our girls finished second in the state! For more information on those teams visit http://www.monarchrugby.org.
